Lent is an opportunity to intentionally choose books to companion us in our forty-day journey. Here are a few we've selected to walk with us this Lent:
Patricia Bouteneff: “I’m reading Nicolae Steinhardt, The Journal of Joy.”
Jennifer Nahas: “Devotions, by Mary Oliver. ’Tell me, what is it you plan to do/ with your one wild and precious life?’”
Sherry Mohr: “ The Journey Through the Holy Great Lent Journal, as a Daily Lenten contemplation with my husband.”
Rachel Contos: “Susan A Harvey's Scenting Salvation. It's interesting to see how scent, prayer, and holiness are tied together both in our hagiographies, and even in our Lenten prayers ("Let my prayer arise as incense!").”
Amber Schley Iragui: “I’m rereading the classic The Orthodox Way.”
Jenna Funkhouser: “I’m reading Seven Holy Women in a book group with some other women in my parish. Lent seems like the perfect time to have new female companions on the journey.”
